In life, we often make mistakes. But as long we are sincere to correct our mistakes while we still live, there is a chance for us. Let me quote the hadith by Baihaqi
Often it so happens that someone has been disobedient to one or both parents in their lifetimes and thus earned their displeasure, but if after their death, be sincerely prays to Allah to bless them with His mercy and forgiveness, Allah declares this disobedient person an obedient one.
